Persadie The Difference as Blues Win OT Thriller
Matthew Persadie turned aside 21 of 22 shots, and was fantastic in net, and Willie Tanner scored a shorthanded goal in overtime, as the Dundas PeeWee AE Blues defeated the Hespeler Shamrocks 2-1, in a playoff thriller on February 4th in Hespeler.

The final OMHA round robin Playdown game for both teams was very even at the start.  Jesse Davis scored the only goal of the opening period, after some hard work in the corners by Brett Punchard and Parsa Norouzian.

The second period was all Hespeler, as the visitors started to find themselves in penalty trouble.  The Shamrocks outshot the Blues 10-1 in the frame, but Persadie was equal to the task, keeping his team in the game.

Dundas continued to find the penalty box in the third period, but their penalty-killing, perfect on the night, did the job.  With their goalie pulled for an extra attacker, Hespeler finally solved Persaide, scoring with 39.4 seconds left, to send the contest into overtime.

Late in the extra period, the Blues again were killing a penalty, but Jonny Brown fed a pass to Willie Tanner breaking down the right wing.  Tanner made a great power move, using his body to shield the puck, before crossing over in front of the Shamrock net, and depositing the puck past the stick side of the goalie.

The Blues piled off the bench to congratulate one another, earning a big character win against a very game team.

Dundas awaits their league playoffs, set to start in a week's time.
