Tanners Edge Blues In Overtime Thriller
In an overtime thriller, featuring stellar goaltending at both ends, the Acton Tanners downed the Dundas PeeWee AE Blues 2-1, in Tri-County playoff action on February 13th in Acton.

Dundas knew they would need to be at their best when they faced Matthew Adkins in the Acton net.  After all, Adkins had faced 47 Dundas shots in a 5-4 Tanners win earlier in the season.  And, from the opening face-off, the Blues pressed, but were unable to solve Adkins.  The first period ended scoreless, with the visitors holding a decisive 12-2 shots on goal.

It was more of the same in the second period, with Dundas again holding a large edge in play and shots (17-3).  It took a power play goal for the Blues to strike first.  Nathan Zonatnos and Brett Punchard did a great job finding opening ice for Willie Tanner, who finally picked up the first marker of the game.  After two, Dundas led 1-0.

However, the Tanners were the team who came out on fire to start the third period.  After not being given a lot of work in the first two periods, Matthew Persadie was put to the test in the third.  And, he was equal to the task.  Acton finally broke the shutout midway through the frame, when a pass from the corner deflected off a Dundas defenseman, and into the net.  The teams headed to overtime tied 1-1.

In the extra frame, the Tanners continued to press, and were rewarded with the game winner.  Over the game, Dundas outshot Acton 41-21, but both goalies were stellar.

The Blues return home on the weekend, hosting the Erin-Hillsburgh Devils on Saturday, February 16th.  The pucks drops at 6:00pm at the Olympic Arena.
