Blues Drop Penalty-Filled Contest To Huskies
The Dundas Bantam AE Blues, sponsored by Nordic Gold Salmon Products, gave a spirited effort in front of the crowd at the Market Street Arena, but fell 2-0 to the New Hamburg Huskies, in a penalty-filled contest on November 15th.

The Blues began the contest with a great deal of spark, unlike some of their previous games, outshooting the visitors in the first period.  However, New Hamburg scored the only goal of the frame, to lead 1-0 after one.

In the dying seconds of the second period, the Huskies doubled their lead to 2-0.

Both goalies were strong between the pipes, and there was no more scoring the rest of the way.  The Blues held a 32-24 edge in shots overall.

While goals were at a premium, penalties were not.  New Hamburg amassed 33 minutes on the night (compared to 18 for Dundas), as both penalty boxes saw their share of occupants.  The Huskies had one played ejected for a check to the head that sent a Dundas player to the hospital, and were lucky, when the referees missed a kick to the stomach of a Blues player, forcing the Dundas forward from the game.

The Blues return to action on Sunday, November 16th, when they make the trip to Arthur, to face the Vipers.
