Second Period Does In Blues
After playing a strong opening period, the Dundas Bantam AE Blues, sponsored by Nordic Gold Salmon Products, couldn't keep the momentum going in the second frame, allowing the Hespeler Shamrocks to score the only three goals of the game, in a 3-0 final, in OMHA Playdown action on January 17th.
The Blues had the best chances off the opening faceoff, outshooting the home side 7-4 in the period.
But, the Shamrocks found their stride in the second stanza, scoring two goals early on, including one on the power play. Another goal with the man advantage made it 3-0. If it wasn't for the strong play of Silas Wauben-Scott in the Dundas goal, it would have been worse, as Hespeler held a decisive 21-3 edge on the shot clock.
The Blues managed to generate some chances in the final period, but were unable to hit the scoresheet.
Dundas returns to the Market Street Arena on Sunday, January 19th, for a 7:00pm puck drop versus the Woolwich Wildcats.
