Blues Close Playoffs With Comeback Win
The Dundas Bantam AE Blues, sponsored by Nordic Gold Salmon Products, fell behind 2-0 early in the second period, but roared back with four unanswered goals, to down the Centre Wellington Fusion 4-2, in Tri-County playoff action on March 2nd in Elora.

The Fusion took it to Dundas in the opening frame, scoring the only goal.  If not for the great play of Silas Wauben-Scott in goal, the deficit would have been much greater.  He faced 12 shots in the period.

The home side extended their lead to 2-0 early in the second. but the Blues regrouped, and quickly got on the board, as Liam Horning made a great solo rush in the offensive zone, firing a shot into the bottom corner.  Later in the period, the Blues tied it, on the power play, as Mason Baker converted a pretty goal, on a great feed from the corner by Myles Walsh.  Shots were even in the second period at 11 apiece.

Early in the final period, Tristan Burr found Ethan Truman, who gave Dundas their first lead of the game.  And, with just under six minutes left in regulation, Truman fed a pass to Alex Zegarac, who, on a partial breakaway, scored a highlight reel goal while being pulled to the ice, giving the visitors a two goal advantage.  From there, it was all Wauben-Scott, who stymied the Fusion with 20 third period saves.  Shots for the game favoured the home side by a 43-18 margin.

It was a great way to end the playoffs for the Blues, who have played very well of late.  On this day, each and every player deserved the win, and it was great to see the smiles on their faces.

Dundas will continue to practice, as they prepare for their season-ending tournament, March 28-30 in Lincoln.
