Blues Brave Weather To Earn Tie
The Dundas Blues Bantam AE, sponsored by Persadie Medicine, played their third strong game in a row, braving a snowstorm on the drive to Niagara-On-The-Lake, and coming away with a 2-2 tie against the Wolves.

The Blues began the current stretch of good efforts against the Niagara Falls Minor A team, dropping a narrow 6-5 decision on November 2nd, followed by a 3-3 tie against a very good Fort Erie team on November 8th, leading up to the game in Niagara-On-The-Lake.

It looked for a while like the Blues might not be able to ice a full line, due to the elements causing slow driving conditions.  Starting the game with only 7 skaters, the visitors played a smart first period, and grabbed the lead late in the frame, when Willie Tanner fed Tommy Stevens in the corner.  Stevens carried the puck behind the net, and feathered a pass to Kieran Thornewell in the slot, who made no mistake, giving Dundas the advantage.

The Blues scored again late in the second, when Thornewell returned the favour, finding Kevin Rorie for the marker.  Nathan Zontanos picked up the other assist.

But give the home side credit.  They didn't quit, scoring a power play goal early in the third period, before picking up the equalizer with just over a minute left, and their goalie on the bench for an extra attacker.

Both netminders, Matthew Persadie for Dundas, and Reuban Eshuis for the Wolves, had strong games.

The Blues hope to keep their good play going, as they head to Strathroy this weekend, for the AE Olympics.
