Persadie Shines As Blues Tie Bulldogs
Matthew Persadie deserved a better fate.  The goalie for the Dundas Blues Bantam AE played a great game, but in the end, two late goals enabled the Garden City Merritton Bulldogs to tie the Blues, 3-3, in Niagara Belcot action, on December 16th in St. Catharines.

The Blues got the start they wanted, scoring twice early.  First, Jaden Vallentin hustled to pick up a loose puck, and fired it home, to open the scoring for the visitors.  Then, just over a minute later, as the Blues were shorthanded (something that happened a lot on this night), Mason Baker intercepted a pass in the Bulldog zone, and made no mistake, giving Dundas a 2-0 lead.

Midway through the second, the Blues struck again, as Tyler Reyenga found Gareth Bachellier, who gave the visitors a 3 goal cushion.  The home side finally got on the board late in the second, on the power play, and it was 3-1 after two.

The parade to the penalty box continued for Dundas, and despite doing a good job killing penalties, and Persadie's outstanding play between the pipes, the Blues could not hold off the charging Bulldogs.  Garden City Merritton scored twice late, to escape with the tie.

Dundas returns to action on Saturday, December 20th, in an 8:30pm puck drop at the Market Street Arena, hosting the Garden City Minor Warriors.
