Minor Atom Blues – Justin Williams Cup Champions
The Dundas “Allstate/Copetown Woods” Minor Atom Hockey Team had another exciting week posting victories in both league play and the Justin Williams Cup-AA Division Tournament to stay undefeated in the 2015-16 season.

On Monday, the Blues posted a 2-1 victory over the Oakville Blades in Tri-County AA action.  Goal scorers included Christopher Cheeseman and Luke Gardner with assists going to Kai Sulentic, Martin VandenHeuvel and Coy Gordon.

On Friday, the Blues headed to Cobourg to compete in their first tournament in the AA Division. Once again, the Blues demonstrated their grit and determination, posting an undefeated record with a total of 27 goals for and only 3 goals against to be crowned the Justin Williams Cup Champions.  The tournament record included round robin victories over the Tecumseh Eagles, Northumberland, and the Quinte West Hawks.  This performance took the Blues through to the Championship round where they posted a 8-1 victory over Northumberland.  Goal scorers for the weekend included Martin VandenHeuvel, Sean Tutt, Declan Forth , Jordan Nyland, Kael Andrew, Christopher Cheeseman, Matthew Taylor, Coy Gordon,  Jack Peebles and  Logan VandenHeuvel.  Helpers went  to Zach Klapman,  Peebles, Martin and Logan VandenHeuvel, Forth, Taylor, Tutt, Gardner, Kai Sulentic, Cheeseman, and Nyland.  Josh Verschoor lead the defense with Alex Gazzola and Adam Edwards demonstrating outstanding play between the pipes.


The Blues will look to stay undefeated with league play this week as they host the Flamborough Sabres and head down the QEW to take on the Niagara Falls Flyers.
