The Dundas “Allstate/Copetown Woods” Minor Atom Blues Team had a winning
week in Tri-Country AA Division Hockey action, securing two victories against
the Milton Winterhawks and the Stoney Creek Warriors.
On Monday, the Blues hosted the Winterhawks to a much anticipated rematch after suffering a loss to them two days prior. The Blues played one of the best games of their season, demonstrating outstanding depth throughout the entire team. Goal scorers for the game included Josh Verschoor, Martin VandenHeuvel, and Kael Andrew. Assists went to Christopher Cheeseman, Sean Tutt, Jordan Nyland, and Declan Forth. The defensive play of Coy Gordon, Zack Klapman, and Matthew Taylor was critical to ensure the Blues victory. Alex Gazzola was outstanding between the pipes.
On Sunday, the Blues traveled to Stoney Creek where they posted another win over the Warriors. Once again, the Blues dominated the play in this 6-2 win. Logan VandenHeuvel and Kai Sulentic each posted two goals, while Martin VandenHeuvel and Jordan Nyland each got singles. Assists went to Nyland, Martin VandenHeuvel, Cheeseman, and Luke Gardner.
