The Subcommittee of the Ontario Minor Hockey Association reviewed the request from Dundas Minor Hockey to change Base Category from ‘B’ to ‘House League/Local League’. This request was approved effective the 2023-24 season.

Players wishing to attend Rep tryouts in Glancaster or Flamborough must do so by following the Right of Choice process outlined in OMHA's Manual of Operations, pg 104, Section 3.4: Right of Choice:

The DMHA wishes to thank all the families who have been following the recent discussions regarding the future of Representative Hockey in Dundas. The Board of Directors held a meeting this past Sunday evening to discuss the feedback from our membership, the OMHA’s guidelines as well as their restrictions in order to make a decision prior to try-outs for the 2022/23 season.

After an in-depth review of our current program, the extensive list of factors reviewed at our most recent meeting as well as the most recent restrictions released by the OMHA this past week and in a decision that aligns with the opinions of the membership-at-large, it has been decided that the DMHA Board of Directors will submit a request to the OMHA to run a Recreational & Select program only and close the Representative program commencing the 2023/2024 season.

This application, should it be accepted, will result in Dundas residents wishing to play Rep hockey having the “Right of Choice” option as per the OMHA Bylaws which will have details posted online shortly. House League and Select programs will still be run locally through the DMHA to continue the heritage of the Dundas Minor Hockey Association and to develop young players and to foster a love of the sport for life.

Regardless of the status of Dundas' Rep program for next year, DMHA will still hold pre-tryout development and checking clinics in Dundas this April, in order to support our players wishing to try out for Rep Hockey. This is being done to ensure that all of our players are prepared to put their best foot forward wherever they are trying out; also, this is mandatory for those trying out for a Rep team in their first year of contact hockey. More details to come shortly.

Thank you to all the families who have made Dundas Hockey what it is for the last 73 years, and to those who will continue to be supporters throughout our shared future together.
