Wolves Edge Blues
The Niagara-On-The-Lake Wolves received excellent goaltending and capitalized on timely scoring, to down the Dundas Blues 3-2, in Bantam AE action on October 4th at the Market Street Arena.

Neither team was able to get much going in the opening frame, with the Blues holding a 5-2 edge in shots on goal.

Early in the second, the visitors got on the board, before scoring again three minutes later, to take a 2-0 lead.  From there, Dundas started to control the game, taking over the puck possession, and garnering several scoring chances.  But when they did, Reuban Eshuis was able to close the door in the Niagara-On-The-Lake net.  Included in the Blues chances were a couple of solid shots off the post by Willie Tanner, who was unable to buy a goal.

The home side finally found the back of the net early in the third, as Max Holmes, playing his first game of the year, fired one home, assisted by Gareth Bachellier and Luke Hamilton.  Holmes, who missed the first part of the year due to an injury, was one of the best players on the ice.  No sooner had Dundas cut the deficit in half, the Wolves scored on the next shift, converting a goalmouth scramble.  There was debate whether or not the whistle had gone, but after the officials conferred, the goal stood.  With just under five minutes on the clock, Mason Baker scored his 4th goal of the young season, to bring the Blues back to within one.  Jaden Vallentin and Kieran Thornewell got the helpers.  The Blues made a late push, but weren't able to get the equalizer.

For the game, Dundas held a 31-22 edge in shots on goal.

The Blues return to action on Wednesday, October 8th, when they travel to Pelham.  Their next home game is Saturday, October 11th, at 8:30pm at the Market Street Arena, when Garden City Merritton will provide the opposition.
