Blues Capture Silver Medal in Strathroy
The Dundas Blues Bantam AE, sponsored by Persadie Medicine, played their best hockey of the season, capturing a Silver Medal at the Strathroy AE Olympics, on the weekend of November 21-23, 2014.
The first day started off slowly for the Blues, dropping a 6-3 decision to the Mooretown Flags.
Dundas regrouped later that evening, to battle the host Strathroy Rockets to a 3-3 tie, before falling 4-3 in overtime.
The second day saw a team with much more intensity and desire. First, the Blues downed the Kent Cobras 4-3, before picking up a must-win over the Glanbrook Rangers, scoring five straight third period goals, to win going away, 7-4. After waiting to see the result of the night game, Dundas found themselves with a shot at the banner.
Unfortunately for the Blues, they didn't have much left in the tank, falling 6-1 to the Flags.
Kudos to every player, all of whom played their best hockey of the year. Special thanks also to the coaching staff, sponsor, and the parents. The team continues to grow and progress, and hopefully, good things will continue to happen.
