Blues Drop Tight Game to Shamrocks
Three nights after a disappointing effort against Brampton, the Dundas Bantam AE Blues, sponsored by Nordic Gold Salmon Products, were back on the ice in Hespeler, where they put together a much better game, dropping a narrow 2-1 final to the Shamrocks.

Playing on the large ice surface in Hespeler meant the Blues were going to need a maximum effort, and they skated well in the opening period.  They were rewarded for their hard work with the opening goal, on the power play, as Ethan Truman fired home a rebound, assisted by Tristan Burr and AJ Wilson.  The Blues thought they had made it 2-0 shortly after, when Matt Czum picked up a loose puck in the slot and deposited it in the net.  But, the referee lost sight of the puck, and whistled the play dead, just before Czum's shot crossed the goal line.  Dundas led 1-0 after one.

The play continued to be even in the second period.  The Shamrocks skate well, and carry the puck with confidence, and, as a result, generated a number of chances to tie up the score.  But Silas Wauben-Scott was able to shut the door in the Dundas net.  The score remained 1-0 for the visitors after the second, with the home side holding an 18-11 edge in shots on goal.

Hespeler finally tied it early in the final period, and a few minutes later, took the lead.  The Blues pulled the goalie in the waning minutes, but like Wauben-Scott at the other end, the Shamrocks' goalie was excellent, and Hespeler held on for the win.

Dundas gets right back on the ice on November 6th, when they travel to Flamborough for an 8:30pm puck drop with the Sabres.
