Blues Explode in Second to Down Huskies
Submitted By Dale Stevens on Sun 02 23, 14
The Dundas Bantam AE Blues, sponsored by Nordic Gold Salmon Products, exploded for 4 second period goals on 26 shots, downing the New Hamburg Huskies 5-3, in Tri-County playoff action on February 22nd at the Market Street Arena.

The first frame was even at both ends of the rink, with the visitors scoring the only goal, early in the period.

A different Dundas team stepped on the ice for the second.  The Blues tied it midway through, as Tristan Burr fired a shot home, from Tommy Stevens and Alex Zegarac.  That goal seemed to ignite the home side, who dominated the rest of the period.  Three more goals were the result.  Ethan Truman scored back to back, assisted by Liam Horning and Myles Walsh on the first, and Drew Kloschinsky and Walsh on the second.  Mason Baker had a great effort on the final marker of the stanza, scoring from Horning and Zegarac.  Dundas led 4-1 with a period to play.

Early in the third, Burr notched his second of the game, wiring a slapshot from just inside the blue line.  Goalie Noah Doan picked up the only assist.  The Huskies scored a pair of power play goals to make it close, but the Blues hung tough, and were full value for the win.

Dundas outshot New Hamburg 38-20 on the contest.

The Blues return to action on February 25th, when the travel to Hespeler to face off against the Shamrocks.
