Minor Atom Blues One Point from OMHA Semi's
The Minor Atom Blues have found themselves just one point away from a berth in the OMHA Playdowns Semi-Finals after four games of the OMHA Quarterfinal series vs the Niagara Falls Flyers.

After securing a victory in game on of the series on February 5th, the Allstate/Copetown Woods Minor Atom Blues defeated OMHA Quarter final playdown action last Monday night when they hosted the Niagara Falls Flyers to a 6-1 victory.  Goal scorers for the Blues included Martin VandenHeuvel, Declan Forth, Jordan Nyland, Kael Andrew and Christopher Cheeseman.  Assists went to Sean Tutt, Coy Gordon, Luke Gardner, Forth, VandenHeuvel, and Cheeseman.  Alex Gazzola was outstanding between the pipes, keeping the Flyers to just one goal.

On Friday, the Blues headed to the Gale Centre where they faced a 2-1 defeat to the Flyers.  It was the Flyers netminder that night who appeared untouchable, keeping the Blues to just one goal scored by Jack Peebles with the assist going to Andrew.

On Sunday, the Blues hosted the Flyers to a nail-biting 3-3 game which went into a 10 minute overtime.  Once again, both teams’ goalies proved strong between the pipes, facing numerous shots. Blues goals went to VandenHeuvel and Forth with assists going to Josh Verschoor, Kai Sulentic, Andrew, VandenHeuvel and Tutt.

This puts the Blues at 5 points of the necessary 6 to qualify for the OMHA semi-finals.  The Blues head back to Niagara on Saturday in hopes of securing a tie or victory which will take them one step closer to becoming OMHA Champions!  Game 5 takes place in Niagara Falls at the Gale Centre on Saturday February 20th at 2:00pm.
