Blues Come Up Short Against Georgetown
Three days after one of their most impressive team efforts of the season, the Dundas PeeWee AE Blues came up with one of their most disappointing, dropping a 7-2 decision to the Georgetown Raiders, in OMHA Playdown action on January 16th at the Market Street Arena.

Dundas was getting their first look at the Raiders, who dropped down a level for the Playdowns.  The visitors, despite being outshot 6-4 in the opening period, scored the only 2 goals of the frame, to lead 2-0 after one.

It was more of the same in the second period.  Georgetown outworked the Blues, and showed by their positional play that they are a very well coached team.  The Raiders scored twice in the second period, to lead 4-0 with 15 minutes to play.

Midway through the final period, the home side finally got on the board, as Will Shaw took a point shot from a Matt Czum feed, and found the back of the net.  But Georgetown didn't go into a defensive shell, scoring twice more, before Brett Punchard scored for Dundas to make it 6-2, assisted by Kevin Rorie and Jesse Davis.  The Raiders closed the scoring in the final seconds.

The Blues hit the practice ice over the next week, before resuming action, with a home-and-home set against the very tough Oakville Rangers.  The first game is Tuesday, January 22nd at 7:30pm in Oakville.
