Clash of the Titans Favours Tyke Blues
The Dundas Nine-O Tyke Blues winning streak continues with two victories this weekend. On Saturday the Blues hosted the undefeated Hespeler Shamrocks for the most exciting game of the season.

The Blues painted the ice green with outstanding defensive play by Matthew Taylor and Coy Gordon.  Goaltenders Adam Edwards and Alex Gazzola split the game, both proving to be unstoppable to the Shamrock shooting efforts.  Offensively, the Blues fought hard with goals by Kael Andrew and Martin VandenHeuvel and assists from Christopher Cheeseman and Logan VandenHeuvel.  This 3-2 victory was instrumental in the Blues securing the top position in the Tyke Division Tri-County standings.

On Sunday, the Blues traveled to Acton to face the Halton Hills Thunder.  Although the Blues were a little slow out of the gate, they shifted into form by the second period when they took the lead from the Thunder.  The Blues secured the 5-1 victory with goals from Kael Andrew, Martin VandenHeuvel and Kyle Wheaton (first career goal).  Helpers went to Ben Rego, Megan Kosempel and Matthew Taylor.  Zachary Klapman, Sean Tutt and Jason MacNeil kept the Thunder’s offensive rush to a low rumble throughout the final two periods.

The Blues continue their quest to stay atop the standings this Saturday at 5:00 pm at Market St. Arena versus the Halton Hills Thunder, and on the road Sunday to dance with the Devils of Erin-Hillsburgh.
