Tyke Blues Playoff Season Begins with Two Wins
This weekend, the Dundas Nine-O Tyke Blues opened their Tri-County playoff season with two wins.

On Saturday, the Blues secured a 6-1 victory over the Caledon Hawks.  The Blues dominated from the drop of the puck, with Kael Andrew scoring within the first 30 seconds of the game.  Although the Hawks snuck one past Adam Edwards at the 6 minute mark, he shut down them down for the rest of the game.  In the second period the Blues peppered the net with a series of three goals in one minute by Andrew, Kai Sulentic and Declan Forth.  In the third, Andrew secured his hat trick and Martin VandenHeuvel wrapped up the scoring for the Blues.  Assists for the day went to VandenHeuvel, Sulentic, Logan VandenHeuvel, Sean Tutt, Zachary Klapman, Kyle Wheaton, Jason MacNeil, and Matthew Taylor.

On Sunday, the Blues momentum continued with a 4-2 victory over the tough Guelph Gryphons. Again, the Blues burst out in the opening face-off, with a goal by Martin VandenHeuvel.  VandenHeuvel had the Gryphons netminder’s number, securing 3 more goals throughout the game.  Outstanding goaltending efforts by both Edwards and Alex Gazzola were crucial in the Blues securing the win.  The back checking efforts of Logan VandenHeuvel, Christopher Cheeseman and Tutt were critical in keeping the Gryphon scoring efforts at bay.  Helpers on Sunday went to Megan Kosempel, Sulentic and Coy Gordon.

The playoff run continues this weekend as the Blues head to Guelph on Saturday, where the Blues hope to once again clip the wings and silence the roar of the half eagle-half lion Gryphons!
