Tyke Blues Face Defeat on the Road
he Dundas Nine-O Tyke Blues took to the road this weekend and faced two tough competitors.

On Saturday, the Blues headed to Woolwich where they went down 2-0 in the first period. In the second, the Blues started to battle back with a goal by Kael Andrew, but the Wildcats responded securing a two goal lead into the third.  By the final period, the Blues made a strong push to get the win when Martin VandenHeuvel found the net, with helpers from Kai Sulentic and Kyle Wheaton. Scoring efforts by Sulentic and Logan VandenHeuvel in the final minutes of play were valiant, however, the Wildcats netminder shut down the Blues, securing the Wildcat 3-2 victory.

On Sunday, the Blues headed to Hespeler to face their Shamrock rivals. Unfortunately, the luck of the Irish was back in full swing that day, as the Shamrocks secured a 5-1 victory over the Blues.  The Shamrock goalie was instrumental in securing their win, by shutting down numerous Blues scoring opportunities. Declan Forth was able to sneak one by the tender in the third period, with the assist going to Christopher Cheeseman, but unfortunately it was too little too late for the Blues.

The dress rehearsal that is the regular season has now concluded, and the Tyke Blues are ready for the big show ... playoffs!  The Blues will be home to a pair of teams they've never seen before this weekend, hosting Caledon on Saturday at 5:00 pm and Guelph on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Both games will be played at Market St. Arena.
