Tyke Blues Rivalry Continues
This week’s Dundas Nine-0 Tyke Blues hockey action was filled with revenge.

On Wednesday the luck of the Hespeler Shamrocks ran out as the Blues erased a 2-0 lead in the 3rd period. With just 2 minutes left to play, the Blues started their comeback with a Kael Andrew backhander assisted by Martin VandenHeuvel and Owen Cox.  The Blues frenzy continued and with 30 seconds left to play Christopher Cheeseman jammed the net to slide it past the Hespeler tender and tie the game.  The Blues completed the comeback with five seconds remaining when VandenHeuvel, in desperation, chipped the puck to an open Andrew who fired it past the goalie to stun the Hespeler arena.

On Saturday the Blues fate would be different, as their last second victory two nights previous seemed to fuel the Shamrocks when they visited Market Street the following Saturday.  The Shamrocks controlled much of the game and secured a 5-3 victory over the Blues.  Goal scorers for the Blues on Saturday were Declan Forth and VandenHeuvel, with helpers going to Kai Sulentic and Andrew.

On Sunday, the Blues returned to their dominating form, securing a 7-0 victory over Halton Hills.  The VandenHeuvel connection lead the scoring effort for the Blues with both Martin and his brother Logan finding the net.  Additional goal scorers included Andrew, Forth, and Owen Cox who found the back of the net for the first time in his career.  Assists went to both VandenHeuvels, Forth, Sean Tutt, and Cheeseman.

Defensive standouts for the week went to Zachary Klapman, Coy Gordon, Sean Tutt and Matthew Taylor.  Their play was instrumental in generating offense and assisting the strong play of the Blues goaltenders, Alex Gazzola and Adam Edwards.
